DeLorme Magnetic Declination Update
Most DeLorme mapping applications use the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) magnetic
declination file to perform various functions within the applications.
On December 16, 2004, NOAA released a new version of the file
that makes the previous version (which was released with most
DeLorme mapping applications) obsolete.
If you do not install the update on this page, the Find and
Route tabs within your DeLorme mapping software may not function
correctly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The steps for downloading
the update vary based on which product you have installed. See
the three groupings below to find your product.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The update below is not for any version of the 2006 program. If you have the 2006 and are receiving an ISO error please click HERE.

- Close your DeLorme program.
- Click Download Now at the bottom
of this list.
- Save the file to the desktop.
- Locate MagneticUpdate.exe and double-click
it.
- Click OK to update your magnetic
declination file. The status window displays all of
the products that have been updated.
- Click Close. Installing this update
once will update every product in this grouping that
is on your system.

Warning:
These updates will only replace the magnetic declination
file if the program was installed to the default location
(ex. C:\Program Files\Topo USA 3.0). Use the steps in
the next section if you have installed the program to
a location other than the default.
- Close your DeLorme program.
- Click your product's link at the bottom of this list.
- Save the file to the desktop.
- Locate the file and double-click it.
- Click OK to update the file.

- Click Download Now at the bottom
of this list.
- Save the file to the desktop.
- Un-zip wmm-2000.dat to the products
program folder (ex. C:\Program Files\Topo USA
3.0). Select the option to overwrite the existing
file, DO NOT
change the file name.
